I have turned this piece on a lathe from a carefully selected piece of Buckeye Burl wood with gorgeous wood grain figure, and polished the finished piece to a warm soft sheen. A hand rubbed oil finish gives protection, with a close-to-the-wood look (not a plastic coating) that lets the natural beauty of the burl shine! The finish on this piece is water resistant, and will keep its beauty for many years! To care for the wood, please wipe off any water, and avoid direct sunlight or temperature extremes.

This Buckeye Burl Votive Candle Holder is about 5 1/4" in diameter and 4 1/8" tall, including the candle.

Buckeye Burl wood is the root of a Horse Chestnut tree. This variety of Buckeye Burl comes from California. It is a uniquely colored wood with a lot of figure and character. Bark inclusions and negative space are part of the appeal of this beautiful and unusual burl. An American treasure!

I am pleased to include with this Buckeye Burl Votive Candle Holder, a high quality, hand poured, scented Mediterranean Rosemary Candle, made here in Colorado by Magic Fairy Candles. The glass cup can be used for a standard Votive Candle when the Magic Fairy Candle is used up.
